NEWSLETTER

Oct. 10, 2012
Computer problems got in the way of my finishing up my newsletter yesterday to announce the release of FAERIE. But I think we've got those problems patched. This weekend my brother and son will be re-building my laptop while I'm away at a meeting  It's really a good laptop, just too under-powered and anemic with too little memory and hard drive space.

So back to work now, and I"ll be adding new people to the list as well as getting the newsletter out!

Yesterday I finally got out my first edition of my newsletter. Please try not to groan. I think I'll have to do a new contest to celebrate my triple release with Montlake, don't you think? The last was very popular, but I think I'd like to give away something new. So any ideas?

January 1, 2012
UPDate: Winners will be announced Monday Jan.9, I hope. I just had to go and make it all more complicated with the multiple ways of getting votes. I want to be sure I'v got all chances recorded before I do a random selection. I'm also in the middle of a very nasty cold, and the meds seem to be numbing my brain. So I think one more extra day can't be such a big deal.

To entice you to sign on to my new newsletter, OR participate i other promo activities, I'm giving a drawing for fabulous prizes.
1. Handblown Christmas Ornament or other glass object by Glass Eye Studio (Gift Certificate for $35 to Glass Eye)
2. Hand tooled leather e-reader cover or other leather item
by Oberon Design Studio (Gift Certificate for up to $87 to Oberon)
3. Three $10 gift certificates to Amazon, Glass Eye or Oberon.

HERE'S SEVERAL WAYS TO ENTER:
1 Sign up for my very brief, very occasional newsletter in the tab above.
2. Up to one comment a day on my IN SEARCH OF HEROES blog.
3. Comment or share my post on my Face Book page for the day (but send me an email to tell me, in case I miss it).
4. Re-tweet or reply to one of my Twitter tweets for the day.

Drawings for ornament on Christmas Day. Drawing for leather e-reader cover and the $10 gift certificates on New Years Day.

Wary of newsletters? Don't worry. Mine will be short and will be used only for major events like new books coming out, major contests, or unusually huge career events. I will not post them more often than once a month, and probably a lot less. And I will NEVER give out any of your information, not at any price.

To launch my new newsletter, I'm offering a contest as incentive to sign up.  Two major prizes and some less major ones:
1. Until Christmas Day, 2011, anyone who signs up for my newsletter will have a chance to win a beautiful hand-blown glass Christmas ornament by The Glass Eye Studio, value somewhere between $15 and $35.

2. All non-winners plus any others who sign up until midnight, December 31, 2011, will have a chance to win a gift certificate, value up to $87 for the most fabulous ebook reader cover (or other cover) you've ever seen, crafted to your specifications at Oberon Design:
http://www.oberondesign.com/shop/cart.php?m=product_list&c=93
This page directs you to the Kindle Fire page, as an example only. There are designs for other ebook readers, or other beautiful objects like purses, wallets, cell phone covers, etc. Your colors, your designs. The gift certificate will give you the freedom to choose what you want, up to $87, the maximum cost of an ebook cover. You want a $137 portfolio cover? Just use the $87 gift certificate and pay the rest yourself.

3. Three gift certificates of $10 each will be awarded to the winners' choice of Amazon, The Glass Eye or Oberon Design.

What, no free books? No need, my friend, because you'll be able to find them for yourself.  Just keep an eye on Amazon Kindle this Holiday season and you'll find them. Maybe also in the first trial newsletter.
